Giorgetti: resilient Italian economy, good signs from employment

Maneuver majority seeking at least 16 billion

(Finance) – The Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, declared that the Italian economy has “demonstrated a remarkable capacity for resilience. We have signs in the last quarter and the beginning of 2024 of a modest recovery, but always above the European average”. At the presentation of the 2023 results of theRevenue Agency-Collection Giorgetti added that “the signals that come from the occupation are in some ways very comforting, we are reabsorbing the phenomenon of unemployment“.

The minister explained that on delegation tax “intense work” is underway with the legislative decrees: some have been done, “others will be done shortly and the high ambition, to rewrite the tax system, which was in the government program, should be completed by spring”, underlining that the Revenue Agency “has a decisive and crucial role for the success of this operation and to establish a new and different relationship with taxpayers.”

The deputy minister was also present Maurizio Leo who declared that “there will be no persecution against those who have not complied, but in the normal practice of respecting the law and privacy we will try to find out why the taxpayer, faced with an interesting proposal, does not comply”. “No witch hunt, but information on why there is a misalignment,” she added.
