Rögle was on its way to a heavy victory against second in the table Skellefteå. The home team, which was in eleventh place before the match, had a 3–0 lead to go on after the first period.
– We had a serious talk. We do a real fucking piss period in the first one. It was perhaps our worst period this year, says Skellefteå’s Rickard Hugg to TV4 Play.
“We had to step up”
And the talk seemed to have an effect, to say the least. After three goals in the second period and as many in the third, Skellefteå was able to win the match 6–3.
– Very nice. We had to step up. It was a nice win, says Axel Sandin Pellikka, one of the scorers, afterwards.
Two of the goals were scored by newly acquired Anton Heikkinen, who thus scored his first goals in the Skellefteå shirt.
After the strong turnaround, Skellefteå is still second in the table, while Rögle slips down to twelfth place.
