Giant rage after inappropriate behavior towards Swedish World Cup hero Zecira Musovic: “Totally disrespectful”

Zecira Musovic stepped forward as a great hero for Sweden.
But after the successful match, an unexpected anger was aroused.
“Totally disrespectful after such a fantastic effort,” writes BBC reporter Emma Smith on Twitter.

Sweden is through to the World Cup quarter-finals after a gas-hugging round of 16 final against the USA on Sunday. The national team goalkeeper Zecira Musovic stepped forward as the big hero when she nailed the goal and took the match to a penalty shootout with several class saves during 120 minutes of playing time.

Musovic hero

After a highly dramatic penalty shootout that swung back and forth several times, the Swedes finally had to cheer when the Americans shot away. After the match, 27-year-old Musovic was highly praised for his impressive effort against the gold candidate USA.

The Swedish hero actually broke a new championship record with a whopping 11 saves for a WC goalkeeper who also keeps a clean sheet. But despite her successful effort in the goal, a clear anger was still raised after the final whistle with Musovic in the lead role.

Ask about Zlatan

Because at the subsequent press conference, a Brazilian journalist asked the most unexpected question to a match hero who had just led his national team to the World Cup quarter-finals. Instead of focusing on the match, there was a question about how Zecira Musovic feels Zlatan Ibrahimovic(?).

Both have roots in Bosnia, but the inappropriate question to the Swedish has attracted a lot of criticism on social media.
“I was sitting two chairs away from the journalist who asked this and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Totally disrespectful after such a fantastic effort and incredible match/result,” writes the BBC reporter Emma Smith on Twitter.

“This shit”

Smith really wants to put his foot down against the strange behavior towards Musovic at the press conference.
“We had to ask Musovic three questions at the press conference and one of them was this shit,” writes the English journalist.

Musovic’s only answer to the question about Zlatan was that she obviously knows him, just like all other Swedes do.
– In Sweden, everyone knows Zlatan, she said at the press conference after the match, according to a Forbes reporter.
