Tens of thousands of people have gathered outside the headquarters of the Israeli army in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, reports The Times of Israel.
The demonstrators are demanding that the government enter into an agreement with terror-labeled Hamas on a ceasefire so that those held hostage in Gaza can return home.
According to the organizer, as many as 400,000 people are expected to participate in the demonstration.
Protesters have also gathered outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Jerusalem.

Four people have been taken to hospital during the Stockholm half marathon, according to the Stockholm region.
– But this is moving matter and the race is on. The latest information I received is that there are four people, says press officer Anna Prucha.
There is no information on the state of the damage.
– There are also healthcare resources on site that take care of people, says Anna Prucha.
A police operation is underway in Stenby Eskilstuna.
The police have shot a man who was taken to hospital for treatment.
According to the police, the man is suspected of unlawful threats.
Witnesses in the area state that at least one loud bang was heard at the scene.
A playground has been blocked off.

Dick Cheney, Republican vice president under George W. Bush, is joining a growing number of prominent Republicans who are turning against Donald Trump.
Cheney will vote for Democrat Kamala Harris in the presidential election in the United States in November, he states in a CNN interview.
– He can never be allowed to gain power again, he says of the Republican presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump.
Cheney was George Bush’s vice president from 2001–2009.
Other prominent Republicans — both former governors and congressmen — have also voiced their support for Harris in the election. Among the more famous, former congressman Adam Kinzinger, strategist Ana Navarro and Trump’s former press secretary Stephanie Grisham stand out.
At least seven people have been taken to hospital after the Helsingborg marathon, reports SVT.
Several runners collapsed along the way in the 27-degree heat.

A computer error at Frankfurt Central Station has stopped all trains to and from the city. The problem is causing disruption to all German train traffic, with major delays as a result, reports the public service company ARD.
The fault affects all train traffic in the state of Hesse, including commuter trains. Rail traffic to and from Frankfurt airport, the sixth largest in Europe, is also at a standstill.
Frankfurt is one of the largest hubs for trains in Europe and, according to ARD, has just over 1,200 departures per day.

A teenage boy is detained on probable cause on suspicion of attempted murder after a boy of the same age was shot in a school toilet in Trångsund.
– My client denies the criminal suspicions and has been detained despite his young age. What is important to me is that he gets a good life in custody, says lawyer Sogand Sasanpour.
According to public prosecutor Urszula Grabowska, it was important that the boy was detained.
– We have assessed that there is a great risk of him influencing the criminal investigation if he was at large and that is the reason for the arrest, she says.
Charges must be filed by September 18 at the latest.
Four people have been injured after an explosion during a chemistry show at Tønder library in Denmark, reports TV2.
– Two have been seriously injured, and there are children among the injured, says Sune Loklindt, the head of duty at the police in South Jutland, to the television channel.
One of the organizers is among the injured and the remaining three are children, Tønder municipality’s communications manager Ulrik Pedersen told TV2.
No one has life-threatening injuries, according to Pedersen.

Saturday is the fourth day of balloon launches this week.
Now authorities are warning citizens about falling objects in the area around Seoul. At the same time, people are urged to report balloons to the military or the police.
Since late May, North Korea has launched thousands of debris balloons in retaliation for the leaflets previously sent against Pyongyang by activists in South Korea.
No hazardous materials have been found in the balloons, which largely contained manure, scrap, paper, pieces of plastic and bottles.
61 people have been killed in Gaza by Israel’s military in the last 48 hours, write Al Jazeera citing the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Within the same time frame, 162 people have also been injured.
Just before eleven o’clock, the police were alerted to a traffic accident at the intersection Snapphanevägen/Kanalgatan in Kristianstad.
– Patrol is on the scene of an accident between a car and an elderly woman in a wheelchair, says police spokesperson Evelina Olsson.
The condition of the victim’s injuries is currently unclear.
SMHI flags high temperatures in parts of northeastern Götaland and eastern Svealand.
“Partly sunny and warm with, especially in metropolitan areas, high temperatures that can cause increased strain on the body,” their website states.
Cities covered include Stockholm, Uppsala, Västerås, Örebro, Skövde, Linköping, Norrköping and Södertälje.

Equality Minister Paulina Brandberg (L) believes that veiling very young children should be grounds for a report of concern.
– My personal view is that every time a young child wears a veil, especially when it comes to really young children and especially when it is also parents who combine it with putting pressure on staff that the child is not allowed to play with boys on the break. Every time it happens, I think it should be grounds for reporting concern to the social service, so that the social service can really intervene, says Brandberg to SR Ekot’s Saturday interview.

Screamin’ Scott Simon, who was a pianist and songwriter in the American doo-wop group Sha Na Na, has died, Billboard writes.
Simon played with the group from 1970 until they stopped touring in 2022.
Sha Na Na broke through after a performance at the Woodstock festival and they had their own television series in the late 1970s.
They were also in the musical film “Grease” from 1978 and Simon co-composed the song “Sandy” performed by John Travolta in the film.
Simon died last Thursday in the suites of cancer. He was 75 years old.
