The Linköping band Ghost was chosen as the winner by public vote. Among others, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Imagine Dragons were nominated in the same category.
The album is the band’s fifth and the songwriters include, for example, Jocke Berg, Peter Svensson, Max Grahn, Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare.
Ghost’s last three albums have all been in the top ten on the Billboard 200 album chart – a position that only four Swedish artists and bands have managed before, namely Abba, Ace of Base, Europe and Avicii.
Previously, Ghost, which was formed in Linköping in 2008, has been awarded three Swedish Grammys, an American Grammy and has received the government’s music export award.
