In the United States, a social celebrity To Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced on Tuesday to 20 years in prison for helping the deceased Jeffrey Epsteinia to sexually exploit girls. Dozens of underage girls were reportedly the victims of the exploitation circle run by Epstein. Maxwell’s attorneys called this Epstein’s crime scapegoat and announced they would appeal the verdict.
In December 2021, Maxwell, 60, was found guilty of five sexual offenses. The most serious charge against which Maxwell was found guilty was trafficking in a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation, with a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
In April of this year, a U.S. federal judge denied Maxwell’s demand for a new trial.

Prior to the verdict, Maxwell called Epstein a “manipulative, intriguing, and controlling man” and apologized for the pain he had inflicted on the victims. According to Maxwell, his biggest cause for remorse is that he never even met Epstein.
