Ghana Adoption of anti LGBT law remains pending

Passed overwhelmingly in parliament last February, the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Act has yet to be enacted. It provides for penalties of up to three years in prison for people who identify as LGBT+ and up to 10 years in prison for those who “promote LGBT+ activities.” The Supreme Court has been petitioned to block the enactment of the bill. On 17 July, it announced that it was postponing its decision.
