Utrecht – Wood stoves and fireplaces account for almost a quarter of all particulate matter emissions in the Netherlands and, according to the GGD, this is “worrisome to very concerning for public health”. They therefore want the government to take measures to reduce the nuisance caused by wood burning, according to research by Pointerwhich surveyed all 25 health services.
