GGD and RIVM see a decrease in monkey pox infections: ‘But the danger has not yet passed’

GGD and RIVM see a decrease in monkey pox infections

In the Utrecht region, 67 people have contracted the monkeypox virus so far. “The number of infections is declining, but we don’t really know why. We continue to monitor it,” says RIVM spokesperson Marah Michel. “We are still doing source and contact research, but if there is a reason for it, it will be scaled down. It is not yet. It is still a bit of a prestige, but we see that it is also decreasing worldwide.”
