James Cameron’s mega-hit Avatar – Departure for Pandora is the box office grossing of over 2.9 billion US dollars most successful film of all time and the sequel Avatar 2: The Way of Water is hardly inferior with around 2.3 billion US dollars, but had to admit defeat at the box office to Avengers 4: Endgame.
At the end of next year, Avatar 3 will continue the celebrated sci-fi saga about the Na’vi people in the cinema and will probably not be a failure. Before that happens, there are two very special editions of the Oscar-winning films available for home cinema since March 22, 2024: High-quality collector’s editions in 4K Ultra-HD with four discs each for part 1 * and part 2 *, available on Amazon.

The new collector’s editions come as limited digipacks and offer the films on both UHD Blu-ray and regular Blu-ray in full HD. There are even three cut versions of Avatar: Departure for Pandora: the original theatrical version, a special edition re-release and an expanded collector’s cut.
The remaining Two Blu-rays of the 4-disc set offer various bonus material. This includes various looks behind the scenes and deleted, never-before-seen scenes, as well as making-of clips and much more. Avatar: From the Jungle to the Water and the Ashes
In Departure for Pandora, the paralyzed ex-marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) takes part in an experiment by the scientist Dr. Dr. on the wild planet Pandora in 2154. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) takes part and slips into a genetically manipulated body of the native Na’vi.
He becomes involved in the exploitation of the planet by an unscrupulous corporation between the warring frontswhen he falls in love with Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) from the Omatikaya clan and becomes familiar with the nature-loving culture of her people.
A few years later, Sully and his family are now standing again in the crosshairs after a temporary period of peace and have to hide in The Way of Water with the water-dwelling Metkayina tribe. Meanwhile, Avatar 3 will expand the story at the end of 2025 with the “Ash People”, a warlike Na’vi clan with a fire connection.
