That’s what the Twin Peaks movie is about
The mysterious murder of the young prostitute Teresa Banks (Pamela Gidley) in the small American town of Deer Meadow brings the FBI onto the scene. Agents Chester Desmond (Chris Isaak) and Sam Stanley (Kiefer Sutherland) are assigned to investigate the case, but Desmond disappears without a trace during the investigation, whereupon Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) takes his place.
A year after the events, the seventeen-year-old student Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) in the small town of Twin Peaks finds herself increasingly drawn into a vortex of drugs, sex and nightmares that lead her further and further into the abyss.
Evil forces appear to be at work and to be related to the original case.
Twin Peaks: The Movie is that good
Twin Peaks, which was most recently continued with Twin Peaks: The Return, continues to fascinate today and has not lost any of its importance after a good three decades. In the FILMSTARTS review, the film adaptation of the prequel, which is now also known in this country under the original English title Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Excellent 4.5 out of 5 stars rating.
Despite bad omens during production, including the opening boos mentioned at the beginning, the crazy mystery drama is no less demanding than the other Lynch films, it says. Likewise, the film does not lack the eerie, mystical nature of his work.
