The police still have no arrests after Friday’s shooting in Oxie outside Malmö where four teenagers were injured. A person on an electric scooter shot at people standing outside a convenience store. Three of the injured have been allowed to leave the hospital.
The shooting happened at a grocery store. One of the neighbors, Gert Jonsson, says that at first he couldn’t believe his ears. He was watching TV when he heard gunshots.
– Then the police came and everything. Then I saw that there was a guy who had been shot in the thigh and one who had been shot in the arm, says Gert.
Increased police presence
During Saturday, the police increased their presence in the area – and they take seriously the fact that someone shoots straight into a group of people in a public place.
– There is always a risk associated with this type of event. Then we believe that it is directed at specific individuals, that is to say that it is not random, says Erik Åberg, acting local police chief.
According to the police, the four injured are known to the police, but not for any serious crime and not for any gang connections.
– This is not an event that we connect to any specific escalation, but we regard it as isolated, says Erik Åberg.
