The year was 2014 when “House dreams” took place in TV tabs. At that time it was Pernilla Månsson Colt and Gert Wingårdh who traveled around Sweden to follow participants who realized their house dreams through renovations or new construction.
Throughout five seasons, the duo programmed the program, but when Månsson Colt could no longer make “house dreams” for temporal reasons stepped Anne Lundberg into her place.
– I have an almost perverse interest in old houses and renovation, she told Express Then and continued on:
– So this program idea fits me perfectly. I love houses and decor.
Now the program is in its twelfth season and SVT promises “a fascinating mix of buildings, from timber constructions to design villas and saved fate houses”. For example, a log house will be built in Härjedalen and a 400 square meter school in Hömb will become a colorful home.
On the way, of course, some participants encounter obstacles of various kinds. However, the most common mistakes that people make when they realize their house dreams are usually the same, according to Gert Wingårdh, who has thus been a program manager since its inception.
– Almost everyone underestimates costs and what time it takes. Not all, but very many, the architect tells News24.
But even though the mistakes often follow one and the same pattern, “house dreams” have changed in itself over the years and as well as the projects, says Gert Wingårdh.
– People have become more and more used to the program.
– It’s high and low, it’s expensive and cheap, it’s new and old. We have sought a great breadth and tried to reflect Sweden and we think we get in those who are looking for today. So that is the difference compared to before, he notes, states that the greatness of the program has led to more, with different types of house dreams, wanting to join.
