Although Karsten only signed for one year, “I always sign for one year, I have done that six times at HHC”, he does think about the long term at the club. “We have to bring IJsselmeervogels back to the top. It will be a long and tough road, but I’m looking forward to it.” The fans dream of a championship, the first for IJsselmeervogels since 2011, but Karsten is realistic. “Champion, we are not talking about that yet. We must first, me with Urk and also IJsselmeervogels, do our stinking best for half a year to stay at the level where we are now.”
