The European Parliament’s Identity and Democracy group has decided to expel Germany’s far-right AfD party from the group.

The group says it no longer wants to be associated with AfD’s MEP and the leading candidate in the European elections Maximilian Krahi.

The measure of the ID came full circle when Krah said over the weekend that not all members of the notorious Nazi armed organization, the Waffen SS, were criminals.

Krah had to resign from the AfD leadership group and promise not to hold any more campaign events. He is still a candidate.

Leader of France’s far-right National Front Marine Le Pen has already severed ties with the AfD, which he considers “too toxic”.

The far-right parties of the European Parliament are divided into two groups. Basic Finns used to belong to ID, but is now in the European Conservatives and Reformists group in ECR.
