Germany, one of the largest countries in Europe, has decided to stop using Huawei and ZTE-signed technologies/hardware in its 5G networks. The transition away from ZTE and Huawei will not happen immediately. The transition away from Chinese companies will be completed in two stages. All Huawei or ZTE hardware in core 5G networks to be purged by the end of 2026All network equipment manufactured by Chinese companies will be completely removed by 2029. It should be noted that this decision by Germany is not a first in Europe and that it was particularly influenced by the United States. Huawei previously made waves with a processor development. Since the brand is under US embargo, it cannot buy special chip/processor production machines from the leader ASML or other manufacturers.
