(Finance) – Confirmed in moderationinflation in Germany in October 2023. This was announced by the Destatis statistics office, confirming the preliminary data released at the end of the month, which indicated an increase of 3.8% every yearafter the +4.5% recorded the previous month.
On a monthly basis there was a +0%, as indicated by the preliminary estimate, compared to +0.3% in the month of August.
As for theharmonized inflationrecorded a decrease of 0.2% over the month (like the initial estimate) and a +3% over the year (preliminary data confirmed).
“Compared to medium- and long-term data, the inflation rate nevertheless remains high. In particular, i consumers are still affected by the increase in food and energy prices, which increased during the long period of war and crisis – says Ruth Brand, president of the Federal Statistical Office – Currently the increase in consumer prices is slowing down slightly. The rate of increase in food prices compared to the previous year has continued to decline, and the prices of most energy products are even lower than the previous year.”
