(Finance) – The performance of retail trade in Germany in March is worse than expected.
In fact, sales in real terms recorded a decrease of 2.4% on the month, after the -0.3% recorded the previous month. The figure is even worse than analysts’ expectations which were for a 0.4% increase.
According to theGerman Federal Statistical Office (DESTATIS), moreover, the annual change is -8.6% from -6.1% recorded in February and compared to the consensus -6.1%.
