The million-dollar robbery took place in Germany in 2021. Yasemin Gündoğan, a German citizen of Turkish origin who works in a money transportation company, started to be tried in the Bremen State Court on the grounds that she stole 8 million 200 thousand euros. Gündoğan accepted the accusations and made confessions at the first hearing.
According to DW Turkish news; In the indictment, it was stated that 32-year-old Yasemin Gündoğan put approximately 8 million 200 thousand euros in cash in a garbage container, took it out of the security gate of the company where she worked and handed it over to her accomplices with whom she carried out the act.
It was reported that after the theft case was detected, Gündoğan first took a sick report and then fled to Turkey, thus losing track of him. The trial of Gündoğan, for whom a prison sentence of up to 10 years is requested, has started.

HE CONVINCED HIS FRIEND TO THE THEFT OF MILLIONS OF EUROS
Gündoğan, who attracted attention with his tension at the beginning of the hearing, started to make confessions afterwards. Stating that she was going through a difficult time because her boyfriend was arrested for drug dealing at the time of the incident, Yasemin G. said that she decided to commit robbery after being persuaded by a friend.
PEOPLE WITH CRIMINAL RECORD HELPED HIMSELF
Arguing that the incident started as a joke at first and then became serious, Gündoğan said that some people, including those with criminal records, helped him during the theft and escape.

Stating that she did not need to plan the theft case separately and for a long time because she knew her job well, Yasemin G. said, “I could have done this incident on any day.” Explaining that on the day of the incident, he placed the money in a waste paper container instead of a safe, and took this container out and handed it over to his accomplices, the defendant said, “My job was up to this point, from now on it was their job (referring to the accomplices).”
THE FACILITY OF THE MONEY IS NOT CLEAR
The fate of the stolen money is unknown. The defendant stated that he received 20 thousand to 25 thousand euros and that he did not know where the rest of the money was. According to the investigation carried out by the prosecutor’s office, 8 million 200 thousand euros are in the hands of the defendant’s accomplices with whom he carried out the action.

Yasemin G., who stayed in Turkey for more than 2 years, said that she had a hard time in this process and said, “Illegal life is not good at all. And it is definitely not good without money. Escape is expensive. Istanbul is an expensive city.”
HE TOLD HIS LAWYER THAT HE WOULD RETURN, AND HE DELIVERED AT THE AIRPORT
Stating that he decided to return to Germany for this reason, G. informed the German authorities through his lawyer that he would return, and then surrendered to the police at Bremen airport. Yasemin G. is being detained and tried.

Yasemin G. stated that while she was expecting to receive most of the money she stole, she received only a small amount. “When you look back, they ripped me off… It’s a shame to have done such a thing and then be left penniless,” she said.
THE WOMAN WHO HELPED HIM ESCAPE RECEIVED A JAIL SENTENCE
Büşra S., who was tried on the grounds that she was Yasemin G.’s accomplice, was sentenced to three years in prison by the court in Bremen in 2022. It was claimed that Büşra S. played an important role in the planning of Yasemin G.’s escape. The verdict in the case heard at the Bremen Regional Court is expected in January.
