Germany Ifo export sentiment worsening

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Sentiment in the German export sector deteriorated slightly. The latest survey by theIfo Institute, a private German economic research institute, based on export expectations recorded in August. Indeed, the sentiment index fell to -6.3 pointscompared to -6 points in July.

“German exporters continue to struggle with weak global demand,” says Klaus Wohlraberesponsible for the ifo surveys, adding “more and more companies complain that they are not able to compete globally”.

In the chemical sectorhowever, the sentiment has changed and businesses now expect an increase in exports. Even industrial companies food and the producers of drinks expect a improvement of their international sales. In the production automotivepositive and negative feedback are more or less in balance. By contrast, the prospects for i machinery and equipment manufacturers are further pupgrade. Even the industry of metals provides a decline of exports.
