The German Twitch streamer Staiy is one of the loudest critics of the platform. Now he reports how much money the controversial competition from Kick is offering him and why a change is still not an option for him.
What is Kick about? The streaming platform was announced in December by casino stream hitmaker Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam as Twitch lost touch with reality.
The boss of the controversial online casino Stake is also involved in Kick. The announcement of the new platform came just weeks after Twitch issued new guidelines on gambling. Stake was also affected by the restrictions.
Since then, Kick Content Creator has been luring users with lucrative contracts and a 95% share of revenue from paid subscriptions. The new competition is particularly attractive for those who are not “brand-friendly” enough for the established platforms and often have to deal with bans.
What is the current development? Many content creators are dissatisfied with Twitch and say so openly: be it the unfair sub-split, the supposedly baseless bans or the new guidelines for sponsored content.
Kick plays this development into their hands: on the official Twitter account, people are already mocking that Twitch is employee of the month. Now the German Twtch streamer Staiy reports on the aggressive tactics with which streamers are to be poached.
Kick on a big shopping spree
What was that offer? Kick had already come up with a new financial incentive in January to compete with Twitch. Instead of the annual deals usual on other platforms, there should be an hourly wage for streamers on Kick (via Sportskeeda).
Now Kick seems to want to take advantage of the current dissatisfaction to lure streamers with lucrative offers. As Staiy reports, he received emails from 3 agencies that offered him a significantly higher hourly wage than he had previously seen in comparable posts.
The streamer does not reveal the exact sum, but he speaks of a “hypothetical offer” of $ 750. That is not the actual number, but it is “a very high number”. We have included a recording of the stream here:

What else is he doing on Twitch? A viewer also asked the streamer this question. However, Staiy explained why the offer was not an option for him.
The streamer is aware that the sums offered are life-changing for many people, who may then never have to work again. For many big content creators, however, it is no longer a matter of having the money: “It’s all about greed and desire.”
Staiy explains that he has now discussed the offer publicly so that his viewers know what is currently going on in the streamer scene. Such offers are now probably in the room for many large content creators, he is very excited to see who will ultimately be drawn to Kick.
Speaking of greed: MontanaBlack, one of the largest streamers in Germany, has already received a lucrative offer from Kick. The double-digit million amount was not enough for the 35-year-old to jeopardize his good reputation, but he already indicated how much he would have to be offered:
