In League of Legends, the new Ranked Split started a few weeks ago. Again, players will need to play many matches if they want to rank up in ranked mode. A German player has now made it to number 1 in the rankings. And in the best LoL land.
What happened? German streamer and Challenger player Agurin has made it to #1 in the rankings in Korea. The Jungle-Main achieved this achievement after only 2 weeks. That’s really impressive, especially considering he made it in Korea.
Korea is considered to be the best country in League of Legends. A Korean team has won the Worlds 7 times. T1, formerly SKT1, has legendary status. With 3 Worlds won, the team holds the record for most World Championship wins.
The country is also incredibly good in the normal ranked area and the level of play is considered to be significantly higher than in other LoL regions. Things didn’t go so well for Korea at this year’s MSI:

How did Agurin do that? As a SoloQ jungler, he’s just damn good. He even plays with NNO in a German team with streamers. Agurin mainly plays Jarvan IV and Elise, with which he currently has a win rate of over 60%. (via OP.GG)
Apart from that he also played Nocturne and Kah’Zix from time to time, with which he also has a good winrate. It shows that he’s not only good with a few champs, but that he has a good range of opportunities. He celebrated his success on Twitter with the simple words GG.
Agurin is a complete SoloQ menace
What is the LoL community saying? A Reddit post about the success has 2400 upvotes and almost 500 comments to date. His success is celebrated in the comments.
The users find his success very remarkable. The time it took him to do that is also an important factor not to forget. This season will show whether he will achieve such success in even more regions. You can trust him.
