In the town of Reutlingen in Baden-Württemberg, a man who was the target of a raid opened fire on a police officer, injuring him.
The Reichsbürgers are a dangerous and armed rebel group
In December, German police arrested 25 far-right members of a group on suspicion of preparing a coup attempt.
The persons were suspected of preparing a violent attack on the German parliament.
In total, it is estimated that there are up to 23,000 Reichsbürger and people who dispute the legitimacy of the German state. They include former parliamentarians, soldiers and policemen.
The group has said that they are armed and ready to kill for their cause. In the December raids, the police found a hundred firearms, swords, satellite phones, riot gear and gold among the members of the group.
The group’s goal is to establish its own army and arrest the politicians currently in power. To lead the new state, the group wants a council headed by a 71-year-old noble businessman Heinrich Reuss.
In Germany, the terrorist movement linked to the extreme right has grown in recent years.
