In Germany, prosecutors have announced the identity of the man suspected of the knife attack in Solingen. He is a 26-year-old Syrian Issa al-H. Prosecutors did not release the man’s last name due to German privacy laws.

German newspaper Der Spiegel according to the man has been imprisoned on suspicion of murder and belonging to the terrorist organization Isis. The man reported himself to the police late on Saturday and confessed to his actions on Sunday.

According to the prosecutors, the man tried to stab as many people as possible “because of his radical Islamic beliefs”.
