In his podcast, a German comedian was upset about his current hardware. At one point he was so annoyed that he was about to throw his expensive PC out the window and stop gaming. He just wants to play a simulator that has already driven its fans crazy with the new DLC.
Who is it about? Alexander Bojcan is certainly better known to most people by his stage name Kurt Krömer. In his role as a always neatly dressed Berliner with a sharp tongue, the comedian has now become one of the most famous podcasters in Germany.
In his podcast “Feelings” (you can listen to a new episode for free every Thursday on podcasts.apple) he meets guests of all stripes without any premonition. The minutes before the guest arrives are also exciting. As a passionate gamer, Krömer likes to tell an anecdote from his everyday gaming life.
His latest story should be familiar to every PC gamer. The comedian originally only planned to upgrade to a new graphics card. But his list quickly grew longer and longer and the frustration grew bigger and bigger.
Comedian despairs of hardware: “It’s completely junk”
What’s junk about Krömer’s PC? When Krömer noticed that his newly purchased graphics card wouldn’t fit in his case, he made a list of new hardware that would also be suitable for an upgrade. He noticed that his PC, which he had bought 2 or 5 years ago (the comedian varies the time here, editor’s note), actually needed a complete overhaul.
“That’s complete rubbish,” he rumbles. It’s not even enough to download Windows 11. He made a list and at the end he said: “I can throw that thing out the window.”
He had to buy everything new. And this despite the fact that he would have opted for a high-end product at the time of purchase. Krömer casually asks the following questions: “Do I now have to pay 45,000 euros every 5 years? How many podcasts should I do?”
What’s all the effort for? At the end of his story, Krömer told his listeners why he was even thinking about a new graphics card. “The games I play jerk and fidget,” the comedian complained.
His most recent game is “Cities: Skylines”. He doesn’t go into detail about which part it is. However, since he critically notes that he doesn’t like the game that much because it is supposedly not finished, one could assume that he is referring to the latest DLC from “Cities: Skylines II”. The DLC received a lot of backlash on Steam. If you, like Kurt Krömer, are interested in Cities: Skylines, we have a recommendation for you: The big GameStar special issue on Cities: Skylines 2
