The new Kevin Costner epic Horizon has been running in German cinemas since last week. This is the first part of a saga that is planned to consist of four films. In the USA, however, Horizon 1 performed so disappointingly at the box office that the release of the sequel in cinemas has been cancelled for the time being. German cinema release of Horizon 2 but is still firmly planned.
Horizon 2 is still scheduled to hit cinemas in Germany in November
In the US, Horizon Part 1 has already been released for home cinema on Warner’s streaming service Max to make even more people aware of the film. It is not yet known whether Part 2 will be released in cinemas sometime this year or next year or will be released directly as a stream.
The German release of Horizon 2 has not yet been cancelled. The sequel to the Costner epic is set to be released in Germany from 7 November 2024 in cinemas. Part 1 can be streamed in your home cinema from November 5th. *

What’s next for Kevin Costner’s Horizon saga?
The director and lead actor is not letting the disappointing Horizon box office results deter him from his plan. In June, Costner announced the start of filming for Horizon 3, which 2025 at the earliest will be released. It is not yet known when and if Horizon 4 will be released.
