The gala, held at Carnegie Hall in New York, featured soprano Angel Blue, violinists Midor and Itzhak Perlman, Tony winner Adrienne Warren and jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, among others.
“We recognize their struggle as a struggle for the right to self-determination, for freedom, for a more just and secure world built on wisdom and love,” said Richard Gere from the stage.
The concert was organized by Direct Relief, a charity that provides medical assistance to the war-torn country.
