In an interview with BBC One, Butler revealed that the war film Apocalypse Now his absolute favorite film is:
I’m not good at watching movies more than once, but there are a few. The movie I can just watch is Apocalypse Now. There’s something so captivating about this film, you know. Just visually. My initial connection to it. There is no other film like this.
Gerard Butler explains what fascinates him so much about the war film:
When Martin Sheen finally meets Marlon Brando – you know, that setup. I’ve never seen a film where a character developed so much. Such a mysterious character that mirrors the actions of another and enters their mind as they embark on the journey. And when they finally meet, it’s pretty impressive.
