Four years after the disaster film Greenland hit the big screen, filming on a second part of the end of the world will soon begin. Hollywood star Gerard Butler is there again.
In 2020, Greenland, a successful action and disaster film, was released in which Gerard Butler tries to save his family from a global catastrophe. Falling meteorites threaten all life on Earth. The only hope is a safe bunker in Greenland.
Now, four years later, there’s good news for everyone who enjoyed Greenland: filming on a sequel will begin in April this year.

What do we know about Greenland 2 so far? The sequel is titled Greenland 2: Migration. Filming on the new disaster film will begin in Great Britain in April 2024.
Ric Roman Waugh (Snitch) will again direct, while Chris Sparling wrote the script – both of them were already involved in Greenland. The script was then revised by Mitchell LaFortune, who was already involved in Kandahar with Waugh and Butler.
The two actors Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool), who played the married couple of the small family in the first part, are also there again.
The plot of Greenland 2: Migration should tie in with the end of the first part. The main characters leave the bunker in Greenland where they found shelter before the world around them was destroyed by the meteorites. Now they embark on a journey through a post-apocalyptic Europe to find a new home in a broken world.

When will Greenland 2 be released? No exact release date for the sequel to the disaster film has been announced yet. However, one can expect that the film will be released next year, i.e. 2025.
