Gerard Butler got an injection from Madonna on the cult

When Madonna orders, one can only obey. At least that’s what happened to Gerard Butler on the set of RocknRolla. The then wife of director Guy Ritchie gave him an injection in the buttocks, because he caught a cold when filming started.

Gerard Butler’s RocknRolla colleague didn’t want to kiss him

As Newshub reported in 2008, Madonna took on the role of set medic. Butler described their first meeting as follows:

Guy introduced her to me. She was like, “You’re the sick one?” And I answered, “Yes.” She just said, “Pants down.” I stood there with my little bare ass and she gave me a shot in the butt.”

According to Butler, the injection didn’t work and he became even more ill afterwards. His health also affected co-star Thandiwe Newton, with whom the actor shares an intimate love scene in Ritchie’s gangster comedy. However, Newton had no desire to become infected.

Gerry [Butler] things went really bad, that’s why I didn’t want to kiss him. Guy [Ritchie] had to improvise. I’m not sure how he managed it, but it ended up being one of the best scenes in the film.

Anyone who looks at Newton and Butler’s sex scene in RocknRolla against this background will see the highlight: detailed shots are cut one after the other in quick succession and suggest one Closeness between the actors that may not have existed during filming. They probably weren’t even in the same room at the same time.

RocknRolla revolves around a group of petty criminals around One Two (Butler), who commits a robbery, to pay off their debts to the powerful underworld boss Lenny (Tom Wilkinson). Although the venture is successful, it subsequently poses life-threatening dangers.
