Georgia will suspend EU membership negotiations for four years, says the country’s prime minister | News in brief

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze says that Georgia will suspend EU membership negotiations until 2028, reports Interpress news agency.

According to Kobakhidze, Georgia is not going to accept EU funding either.

The pro-Russian Kobakhidze’s Georgian Dream party declared itself the winner of the Georgian parliamentary elections this fall. The country’s opposition parties consider the elections dishonest.

Today, Thursday, the Parliament of Georgia officially appointed the ministers of Kobakhidze’s new government. The opposition parties boycotted the parliamentary session.
