The Rebel Alliance plays an important role in Star Wars. A conversation in Episode 3 revolves around the origins of this alliance. However, the scene was deleted.
Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith shows a meeting between senators, including Padmé Amidala, Bail Organa and Mon Mothma. There they discuss Palpatine and democracy, which is threatened by his rise to power.
The conversation resulted in the plan to found an organization to fight for the preservation of democracy – Padmé agreed with the other senators after initial doubts. However, the scene was deleted from the film.

The focus shouldn’t be on Padmé
Why was the scene deleted? According to Screenrant, George Lucas stated in a bonus feature on the home media release of Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith that the scene’s deletion was the result of a decision to focus the film more on Anakin and his to lay the case.
The scene would have given Natalie Portman’s character Padmé a much more important role and greater development. You can read more about this from our colleagues at Moviepilot.
What was discussed in the scene? Senator Bail Organa noted during the meeting that they cannot allow “a thousand years of democracy to disappear without a fight.” When asked what he meant by that, he said: “I apologize, I don’t want to sound like a separatist. “
Senator Mon Mothma chimes in:
We are not separatists trying to turn our backs on the Republic. We are loyalists trying to preserve democracy in the republic.

Padmé says she can’t believe it’s come to this. Palpatine is one of her most senior advisors and served as an ambassador when she was queen. One of those present replied: “I think you underestimate the level of corruption that has spread in the Senate.”
Bail Organa stands up and states: You can’t debate this any further. They’ve decided to do something – Senator Mon Mothma and he want to start an organization. Padmé interrupts him and asks him not to say anymore. She understands that, but “at this point, some things are best left unsaid.”
The discussion group agreed that no one would talk about the plans – not even with people close to them. Padmé Amidala also agrees, which is how the scene ends.
