George Clooney urges Joe Biden to drop out

George Clooney led a fundraiser for Joe Biden’s campaign less than a month ago. Then 30 million dollars were collected.

Now he completely turns around and calls on Biden to withdraw instead.

  • “The Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden from 2010. He was the same man we all witnessed in the debate,” writes the actor in an open letter in the New York Times.

At the same time, Clooney shows appreciation for the president and what he has done.

“Joe biden is a hero. He saved democracy in 2020. Now he has to do it again in 2024,” writes the actor.

    Strongly disputed

George Clooney also believes that this is not only his own opinion, but also shared by all the senators, congressmen and governors he has spoken to.

As recently as Wednesday, Nancy Pelosi, former speaker of the US House of Representatives, questioned Biden’s presidential candidacy.

On the night of Thursday, Democrat Earl Blumenauer also came out and said that Biden should not be the Democrats’ presidential candidate. He then became the ninth Democrat from the House of Representatives to openly express dissatisfaction.

Shortly afterwards, Senator Peter Welch also went out Washington Post with a call for Biden to withdraw. He will be the first of the Democratic senators to do so publicly.
