“For music without drawing boundaries between childish or adult melodies and for the courage to let every component of text and music shine together without rebuke, completely in the spirit of Gunilla Bergström,” reads the justification.
Among other things, Riedel has composed “Ida’s summer song” and the signature melody for the TV series about Alfons Åberg.
“Gunilla was able to rewrite Alfons’s world so that it became a universe of its own, a universe for all ages. Fortunately, I got a little space as well,” says Georg Riedel himself according to a press release.
The prize consists of a statuette and 25,000 kroner.
