Gentlemens Club fined 10000 for offenses under Ontario Fire Code

Brantford business, The Gentleman’s Club, has been fined $10,000 for multiple offenses under the Ontario Fire Code.

A news release issued by the City of Brantford, said 907602 Ontario Inc., which owns and operates the business at 235-239 Market St., pleaded guilty to five counts related to five locked and/or obstructed exit doors found during a joint inspection on Sept. 1, 2022.

The business was fined $1,600 plus victim surcharges for each count, totaling $10,000 (inclusive of court costs) in Provincial Offenses Court on May 17, 2023.

The convictions highlight the importance of complying with the Ontario Fire Code on a daily basis, said Dwayne Armstrong, deputy fire chief of the Brantford Fire Department.

“The Brantford Fire Department reminds property and business owners that they are required to be in compliance with the Ontario Fire Code at all times and failure to do so can result in sizable fines.”
