(Finance) – The board of directors of Generali Insurance has appointed by co-optation Alessia Falsarone, Andrea Sironi and Luisa Torchia as directors of society. Today’s appointments fill the gap left in January by the resignation of the Roman entrepreneur Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, of Romolo Bardin (managing director of Leonardo Del Vecchio’s Delfin) and of Sabrina Pucci (described as close to the CRT Foundation, even if the foundation of banking origin has denied any connection). “The co-optation of Falsarone, Sironi and Torchia is the best demonstration of the quality of the candidates with experiences in the international, governance and sustainability fields that will be part of the slate for the renewal of the Board presented by the outgoing Board of Directors “, commented Gabriele Galateri di Genola, president of the Trieste insurance company.
Alessia Falsarone, resident in New York with US and Italian citizenship, brings to the Board extensive international experience in both the ESG and asset management fields. She is currently responsible for sustainable investments and portfolio strategy and risk in credit markets at PineBridge Investments, which she joined in 2011. Previously, she was vice president of investment at leading US insurer AIG, as well as holding strategic roles at both Citigroup and Credit Suisse.
Andrea Sironi, resident in Milan, will come proposed as chairman candidate on the slate for the renewal of the BoD that will be presented by the outgoing board. Sironi is a renowned university professor and rector and one of the leading international experts in governance and risk management. Currently chairman of the Italian Stock Exchange and independent member of the Board of Directors of Intesa SanPaolo, previously a member of the boards of Unicredit, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the London Stock Exchange Group.
Luisa Torchia, resident in Rome, is one of the leading Italian experts in law, with extensive academic experience, in public administration and on board of directors of major financial organizations. Torchia is currently a professor of administrative law at the Roma Tre University, and previously held academic positions at the Universities of Urbino, La Sapienza of Rome and Princeton University.
