Generali: AM Best confirms rating, stable outlook

Generali cuts ties with Russia Exposure is marginal

(Finance) – AM Best confirmed its financial strength rating of generals (Financial Strength Rating – FSR) to “A” (Excellent) and the long-term issuer credit rating (Long-Term ICR) to “a+”. At the same time, AM Best assigned Società Cattolica di Assicurazione the rating “A” (Excellent) on financial solidity and “a+” on the Long-Term ICR, by virtue of the inclusion of Cattolica among the subsidiaries benefiting from the rating of Assicurazioni Generali.

AM Best also confirmed the long-term credit ratings relating to the debt instruments issued or guaranteed by Generali (Long-Term IRs). The outlook is stable.

The judgments – explains a note – reflect the “capital solidity of Generali as well as its operating performanceexcellent business profile and appropriate risk management”. Generali also continued to “develop its position in its main reference markets thanks to the acquisitions, in particular that of Cattolica in 2021, which is expected to allow the Group to assume a leadership position in the Life and Non-Life markets in Italy”.
