The couple was found on Wednesday evening local time and the police confirmed the deaths later in the night, reports Santa Fe New Mexican.
The couple’s dog was also found dead at home in Santa Fe, confirms local police for the newspaper.
The cause of death is still unclear and there are initially no signs of crime.
Gene Hackman broke through 1967 with Bonnie and Clyde and is multiple Oscar nominated. In 1972 he won a figurine for best male lead in the movie The French Connection.
Gene Hackman turned 95. Betsy Arakawa turned 63.
