Gender equality a new paradigm in the organizations DNA

(Finance) – A meeting entitled: “Gender equality, a new paradigm in the organization’s DNA and a value of the PA to promote excellence and professionalism” was held this afternoon at the INPS headquarters in Palazzo Wedekind in Piazza Colonna in Rome. “, organized by Single Guarantee Committee (CUG) of INPS. Fight against discrimination, fight against all forms of violence and work-life balance, these are the main fronts on which the Institute has been engaged for some time, with work aimed at adopting and enhancing the main positive actions promoted by the CUG. In fact, since 2017, the most significant positive actions have been shared with the technostructure, with the related indicators and times for concrete implementation, through inclusion first in the Performance Plan and now in the Integrated Activity and Organization Plan (PIAO) .
After the institutional greetings, Micaela Gelera, Extraordinary Commissioner of the Institute, underlined how this meeting rewards the activity of the CUG, which the Institute and the Bodies have always shared and supported. ”An activity that aims at important objectives, not only for INPS but for the entire PA” – and he continued – “I hope that the Institute will be able to obtain the Certification of gender equality, as a culmination of this constant work . Everyone must have the opportunity to express their value and personality.”

Mariella De Vivo, President of CUG INPS, illustrated the stages of the Institute’s long journey over the years, from the use of smart working and remote work, for reconciling work life with family life, to the opening of nursery schools, to various projects such as “Inps for women” and “Inps for all”. De Vivo also referred to the regulatory framework, to Directive 223/970 of the European Union, to the regulatory interventions of the Italian Republic (Law 162/2021, which significantly modified the Equal Opportunities Code and Law 30 December 2021, which introduced at national level a Certification of gender equality) and to the PNRR itself, which has identified gender equality as one of the three fundamental transversal priorities that compose it.

Following were the following speakers: Martina Semenzato, President of the Parliamentary Commission of inquiry into feminicide, as well as into every form of gender violence, who illustrated the work of the bicameral Commission, placing emphasis on the indispensability of work as the only way to the independence of women, Madia D’Onghia, Member of the Observatory on the certification of Equality at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, who identified the salient points of this new tool for guiding organizations and Irene Bellini, Gender equity in the medical field, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the La Sapienza University of Rome, who gave an overview of the differences in behavior between genders with respect to health and also on the possibilities of access to treatment.

During the meeting it was presented the book entitled “Rinasco da te”, by Valentina Belvisimotherless, former INPS employee, violently killed by her father, and now engaged on the front line in the fight against gender violence, in the Edela Association.
The meeting was moderated by Eleonora Paladino, Vice-President of CUG INPS. The conclusions were entrusted to Vincenzo Caridi, INPS General Director, who recalled that the fight against violence against women is not just a problem for women but it is essential to create an alliance: “we think in terms of planning, because create a true path of improvement, to be carried forward with pride and passion” – said Caridi.

Following this, Diego De Felice, INPS Central Director of Human Resources, attended the award ceremony of the “Inps Excellence 2023”, fifth edition.
