Since the outbreak of the nitrogen crisis, governments have made agreements with each other about so-called external netting: buying up farms to use the nitrogen space released elsewhere. But according to ChristenUnie, VVD, CDA, PvdA, GroenLinks and SGP in Gelderland, it is not the intention to save nitrogen space. The ministry is said to have bought up Gelderland companies for the widening of the A27 since 2021, while negotiations have been going on for many years. The province knew nothing about it, says responsible deputy Peter Drenth.
