(Finance) – The transport of gas from Russia to Europe through the Nord Stream pipeline it will be suspended for three days, from 31 August to 2 September, for maintenance. This was announced today Russian company Gazprom.
“On August 31, 2022, the only Trent 60 gas compression unit will be shut down for three days for maintenance and – the Russian giant announced – the transport of gas through the Nord Stream pipeline will be suspended”.
“The series of ordinary maintenance works according to the current maintenance contract – specified Gazprom – will be carried out together with Siemens specialists”. Once the work is completed, in the absence of any technical problems with the unit, the gas transportation will be brought back to 33 million cubic meters per day.
Gazprom’s announcement of a new three-day stop in supplies from Nord Stream, whose flows are already reduced to 20% of the pipeline’s capacity, marked a new record at the Ttf in Amsterdam. The price shot up to € 261 per MWh and, after beating a last price of € 257.4 (+ 6.8%), it then settled at 244.55 euros (+ 18.6% in one week).
A trend that suggests, at the reopening of the markets on Monday, new rises for the reference index of the European gas price with a price above 260 euros.
