The border between Gaza and Egypt is closed. But when it was open, over 100,000 Palestinians fled to Egypt.
Now it is unclear when or if they can return.
– If you ask a Palestinian living in Egypt or elsewhere, they can’t think of anything but returning. All the time you think about it, says Menyar Khater.
“Don’t know what the future looks like”
Menuar Khater and Ahmed Eleiwa are not only neighbors but also close friends and colleagues. The thoughts about the future are going in one, says Ahmed:
– I don’t know what the future looks like. Am I staying here for a while? Should I return to Gaza? Is there anything else later? I don’t know. I can’t make decisions and I can’t even think about the issue, says Ahmed Eleiwa.
See how they reason about the future in the video above.
