Gaza Ministry Security forces killed twenty gang members after robbing

The UN aid organization for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said on Monday that its aid convoy had been violently robbed on Saturday.

In Gaza, the security forces have killed at least 20 people in an operation against gangs that robbed aid trucks, says the Gaza Ministry of Interior under Hamas. The matter has been reported by, among others al-Jazeera and L’Orient Today.

According to the Gaza ministry, the looting of trucks has led to signs of famine in the southern parts of Gaza.

The UN aid organization for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA told on Monday that its aid convoy had been violently robbed on Saturday. According to the organization, it lost most of the more than a hundred trucks carrying food aid.

The aid organization reminded that without immediate intervention in the situation, the severe food shortage will worsen in Gaza and further endanger the lives of more than two million people. According to the organization, the Israeli authorities continue to neglect their obligations under international law to ensure that the basic needs of the population in the region are met and to enable the safe delivery of relief supplies.

The head of the organization Philippe Lazzarini said on Monday that the Middle East is on a knife edge and described in the statement the situation in Gaza as a “relentless dystopian horror”. He reminded that more than 43,000 people have been reported dead. Almost 70 percent of them are women and children.

Lazzarini also warned of the worsening situation in the occupied West Bank, as military attacks by the Israeli armed forces have become daily, and violence by Israeli settlers is not controlled.
