According to the indictment, the man allegedly abused his partner on several occasions over six months. The district court did not consider the woman’s story to be credible and acquitted the man of the charge of violation of women’s privacy.
Both the prosecutor and the woman appealed the district court’s verdict to the Court of Appeal. To the Court of Appeal, the prosecutor had also added evidence that the woman suffered bleeding in the brain from the assault.
The Court of Appeal makes a completely different assessment of the woman’s testimony and considers her credible. The Court of Appeal sentences Gävlebon to eight months in prison for five cases of assault.
