The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority said its McKeough Dam was in operation and water levels were expected to peak overnight Saturday in the lower reaches of the Sydenham River watershed.
A flood warning issued by the conservation authority Saturday evening said that with more rain forecast for the region, gates at the McKeough Dam in St. Clair Township were closed because of the risk of flooding in Wallaceburg.

Several roads were also closed due to flooding, including sections of Stanley Line, Plowing Match Road, Black Ash Road, Gypsie Flats Road, Nelson Street and Otter Line in Wallaceburg.
The authority urged residents to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to slippery banks and cold, swift moving water.
