(Finance) – The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, in relation to the strike called by the representative organizations of the fuel managers of the motorway network, announces “a rapid convening of a working table in coordination with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in order to examine the requests placed at the basis of the agitation by the category and the problems relating to the sector”. He therefore invites the trade union organizations, “in view of this commitment, to consider suspending the current plant closure programme”.
The three-day strike proclaimed by the trade organizations of motorway service area managers – Faib, Fegica and Anisa – will end at 10.00 pm this evening – “to pierce the veil of silence and connivance that for over 22 years has allowed the perpetuation of a ‘system’ aimed at exploiting in an undisturbed way and for exclusive private purposes, the abnormal wealth that only a public asset under concession can generate, to the detriment of the community in general and of the users of a service with poor quality standards and provided at unjustifiably off-market prices”. With the Ministry of Transport, “then as now and despite the succession of changes in political positions, as in technical ones, to ensure that no one dares to disturb the ‘operator’in clear contradiction with the institutional mandate enshrined in the law”. “The inertia and absolute silence on the subject of Minister Salvini – otherwise loquacious – even in the face of the detailed complaints that the small management companies have taken it upon themselves to make his disposition, despite the very strong pressures they have been subjected to, it can only be read as an act of explicit complicity and political cover towards the ‘system'”.
