(Finance) – Gazprom indicated that gas exports to non-adhering countries Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS, the former Soviet republics) fell by 31% in the first half of 2022. The exports amount to 68.9 billion cubic meters. In the same period, the company added, preliminary data reveals that Gazprom produced 238.4 billion cubic meters of gas – 8.6 percent less (22.4 billion cubic meters) in one year.

Gazprom has forwarded to know that, according to its preliminary estimates, the consumption world of gas for the half year 2022 decreased by 24 billion cubic meters compared to the first half of 2021. The gas consumption of the 27 countries of theEuropean Union which in the same period decreased by 27 billion cubic meters. “Therefore – underlined Gazprom on its channels – the drop in gas demand in the EU has become a key factor in reducing world consumption”.
