(Finance) – Weekly gas stocks are decreasing in the USA. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), a division of the US Department of Energy, gas storage in the week ending February 23, 2024 decreased by 40 BCF (billion cubic feet).
The data turns out to be almost in line with the consensus (-42 BCF). The week before there was a decrease of 96 BCF.
Total inventories therefore reached 2,334 billion cubic feet, an increase of 13.4% compared to a year ago (when they were equal to 2,054) and an increase of 30.9% compared to the average of the last five years of 1,783 BCF.
