After setting the bar very high on its top of the range, the Fénix 7, Garmin is updating its more accessible watches, the Instinct. The two models that make up the Instinct Series are available in several trim levels ranging from the Instinct 2 to the Instinct 2S Solar.
If they offer a base of common functionalities for the analysis of sports activities or health monitoring, the rise in the range makes it possible to add new functionalities including the famous technology Solar dear to the brand and which offers the sports watch a so-called unlimited autonomy.
Self-sufficient solar
Indeed, at Garmin, the solar technology appeared on the Fénix 6 allows the watch to integrate around the dial and under the protective glass, a transparent photovoltaic filter which captures solar energy to then redistribute it to the battery.
On particularly advanced watches, equipped with several GPS systems and advanced mapping, such as the Fénix, the Solar becomes a range extender. But on a less greedy watch, such as the Instinct 2, it may be enough to recharge it constantly. This is what allows the American brand to affirm that the autonomy of its youngest is unlimited.
Be careful, however, to achieve such a result, the watch needs to be exposed to a minimum of three hours a day outdoors in conditions of 50,000 Lux, the equivalent of a sunny day.
In addition to the “Solar” technology, the main novelties of these Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S (the main difference between these two models being the size of the case and the screen), are the addition of functionalities such as the measurement of the VO2 max, sleep analysis, contactless payment with Garmin Pay, and stress level monitoring, among others.
In addition, the Instinct, like the other watches of the sports specialist, have a multitude of sports profiles depending on the activity carried out and of course customization functions to display the data of your choice on the dial. .
Finally, whatever the level of finish, the Instinct 2 obviously has connected functions that allow it to display notifications (calls, SMS, social networks and others).

The Instinct 2/2S and their Solar versions are available today. Their price starts at 349 euros for the basic version of the Instinct 2S and can reach 499 euros, in the Solar version, and in the Surf or Tactical limited series.
