Aid organizations have repeatedly raised the alarm about the dire humanitarian situation and the risk of famine and starvation.
In Gaza, 3,000 children are now at risk of becoming seriously ill or dying from malnutrition if they do not receive care in time, according to Adele Khodr, Unicef’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa.

“Horrible images continue to emerge from Gaza of children dying in front of their families due to the continued lack of food and nutrition and the destruction of health services,” she said in a statement recently.
WHO: Increase in disease
In the overcrowded hospitals, there are not enough supplies and resources to care for the injured.
According to the World Health Organization WHO, infectious diseases such as diarrhoea, hepatitis and acute respiratory infections are becoming more common.
Doctors Without Borders, which has a team on the ground in Gaza, testifies to “terrible conditions”, they write in a statement. In the past month, they have seen an increase in patients with skin conditions such as scabies.
“Desperate medical need”
Meanwhile, aid organizations are finding it difficult to deliver medicine to Gaza since the Kerem Shalom crossing was temporarily closed at the beginning of May.
In mid-June, the Israeli military, the IDF, announced that it was introducing daily “tactical pauses” to allow more humanitarian aid to enter.
– If we do not succeed in getting medical supplies into Gaza as soon as possible, we may be forced to cease our medical activities. It is unthinkable given the desperate medical needs of thousands of Gazans,” said Guillemette Thomas, medical coordinator, Doctors Without Borders, in a statement.
